"What is True and Noble"

When I logged on to FB, I saw a song posted which was, "In God We Still Trust" by Diamond Rio. An awesome song! It gives an encouraging word to the families who survived the senseless killing of their loved ones on that fateful day of 9/11.

As I viewed the the video, the words, "What is Noble" came with the thought of Truth, but I could not think of the rest of the scripture, so I "Googled" it, and it was Philippians 4:8.

Written by Paul the Apostle, Philippians is in many respects, the most beautiful of Paul's letters, full of tenderness, warmth, and affection.

The dominant note throughout the letter is that of triumphant JOY. Paul though a prisoner, was exultantly happy, and called upon his readers to rejoice in Christ always.

Listen to his practical advice in Philippians 4:8.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Beautiful words which puts the focus back on God and His truths written in His Word, The Bible. We as believers can not let those who only have destruction on their minds tear us down. If we focus on God, He promises that we can make it through any tragic situation which comes into our life. Paul, going through suffering himself, found the answer which lead him to a supernatural JOY.

Our adversary, Satan, hates us and wants to see us suffer and he goes to any length to see that accomplished. He will use any non-believer to make his plan happen. God wants us to be prepared for any battle that comes our way and He will give us the strength to make it through it. So, Paul encourages us to focus on what are True and Noble things. He says, when you search for higher things, you will elevate your own life and out of it will also come JOY. The Supernatural JOY only God can give.

I found this sermon, which I have posted below, that digs deeper into the meaning of the verse Philippians 4:8, and has another twist to it for the unbeliever.

This verse gives us eight questions to ask about our thoughts. Before you think and before you speak, ask these six questions.

1. Is it true? “Whatever is true.” Truth is the first test. Knox translates this as “all that rings true.” Before you open your mouth, are you speaking the truth? Do your words have the “ring of truth” about them? This question rules out all that is dishonest, untrue and unreliable.

2. Is it noble? “Whatever is noble.” The word means “honorable, worthy of reverence.” It refers to that which is majestic and awe-inspiring. One person translated it as “noble seriousness.” This word is used in another place to describe the proper qualities of an elder. Is your thought life honorable? Do you ponder things that are noble and of serious purpose? Or do you dwell on the frivolous and trivial?

3. Is it right? “Whatever is right.” This means “in conformity to God’s standards.” Not, “Is it right in my eyes?” or “Is it right in the eyes of others?” but “Is it right in God’s eyes?” If your thoughts were broadcast for the world to hear, would you be ashamed and embarrassed? If others knew what you were thinking, what would they think of you?

4. Is it pure? “Whatever is pure.” The word means “undefiled, chaste, clean, holy.” It touches the whole area of moral purity. Is your thought-life clean? We used to say, “Get your mind out of the gutter.” If you live in the gutter, don’t be surprised that your mind is covered with slime.

5. Is it lovely?
“Whatever is lovely.” This word is used only here in the New Testament. It literally means “love towards.” It has the idea of attracting loveliness as a magnet attracts iron filings. One person translates it as “those things that grace attracts.” Do your thoughts automatically attach themselves to that which is beautiful and lovely? A thought may be true and even right but still not be lovely. Here’s a simple rule: If it’s not lovely, if it doesn’t make you lovely, don’t say it, don’t think it, don’t do it, don’t dwell on it, and don’t repeat it!

6. Is it admirable? “Whatever is admirable.” That is, is it worthy of study and contemplation? Or is it cheap and tawdry? This question asks us to focus on the things that are positive not negative, constructive not destructive, things that build up not the things that tear down. This means editing your words so that you simply delete the non-admirable things from your vocabulary.

If that’s not enough, the Apostle gives us two catch-all categories: “If anything is excellent or praiseworthy.” Excellent refers to virtue and praiseworthy means “those things that God himself would approve.” So here you have two final questions:

Taken together, these eight questions point the way toward positive thinking. Paul says, “Think on these things.” It’s a command. It’s in the present tense. Keep on focusing your thoughts in these eight areas. Find the true and think about it. Find the noble and think about it. Find the lovely and think about it. Find the virtuous and think about it. Do it, and verse 9 tells us that “the God of peace will be with you.” Those who think on these things experience God’s peace in their lives.

If you focus on the truth, you will speak the truth.
If you look on noble things, nobility will mark your life.
If you seek out lovely things, your life will be lovely to others.
If you dwell on that which is right, that which is wrong will have no attraction to you.
If you think on pure things, you will become pure.
If you look for virtue, you will find it.
If you search for higher things, you will elevate your own life.

Here is God’s prescription for believers trapped in unhealthy living: Think On These Things! Focus on the good, the pure, the true, the holy, the right, the lovely. Find those things that elevate the mind and think on them!

“Find them,” you exclaim. “But where do I look?” Look all around you. Even in a fallen world, beauty is everywhere, truth is right by your side, purity is yours for the asking, things that are admirable are all around you.

Father, gratefully we express appreciation for the fact that You have ministered to us this morning in many ways, and You have given us the privilege of sitting, as it were, at the feet of the Spirit of God to be taught. Help us, Lord, to understand the unbelievable privilege of having the mind of Christ, the wisdom of God dispensed to us by the Spirit of God so that we can properly know what is right. Help us, Lord, to protect the mind, to learn to think, to set our minds on the things that matter. Thank You, O God, for the rich repository of Your Word and all those many books that speak of Your Word that provide for us an unending well of fresh clear cool refreshing water of truth that we might truly be saturated with that which is true, which is honorable, which is right, which is pure, which is lovely, which is of good repute. And since there is excellence in the Christian life and since there are some things so worthy of praise, we would think on these things. Guard us, Lord, that we might be all the more to Your glory. Amen.

"THE LORD IS THERE"

Oh, to study the Word that is Alive, (the breathe of God) and the Joy of knowing the Holy Spirit is right beside you giving supernatural understanding of each word, there's nothing that can compare. One can not just read through it and say, "I have read through the entirety of the Bible". You miss out on the benefits if you don't diligently seek what God wants you to Spiritually see, feel and hear through His Holy Spirit as you read. If you don't expect something but reading, that is what you will get. If you pray for revelation as you read and ask that your spiritual eyes be opened to what God wants you to see and your spiritual ears to ear what God wants you to hear, that is what you will get. This week my Bible study with the "One Year Chronological Bible" has been in Ezekiel. Also reading the study bible, "The New Spirit Filled Life Bible" (TNSFLB) shines more light on the meaning of Ezekiel 40:1-48:35. These scriptures tell of the new temple and the order of worship for Israel. Most importantly they conclude with the name of the city, Yahweh Shammah, "THE LORD IS THERE". This is the key for understanding this whole vision of Ezekiel, which is paralleled by Rev. 21:1-22:15. The meaning of the name of the city, Yahweh Shammah, "THE LORD IS THERE", is significant. The vision of Ezekiel 40-48 reveals to the prophet a picture of a restoration of not just the people spiritually, but of a restored land with its center in the temple of God. The vision assured the prophet that one day God would again dwell with humanity and be worshiped in the spirit and truth (see John 4:23). (TNSFLB) THE WALK OF FAITH - As New Testament believers, we have two exciting and uniquely wonderful opportunities. The first is to look forward in faith to the heavenly temple. From it flows the river of God, whose waters bring life and healing to everything they touch. The second is to understand that we can walk in the river of God now. We have within us the Holy Spirit and God's resurrection power. The Lord desires to use us as instruments of healing to the nations to extend His healing to everything we touch. The high points of Ezekiel 40:1-48:35 are below: In faith, look forward to this heavenly temple, representing God's eternal dwelling place with His people. Walk into the river...We are to walk increasingly deeper in the Holy Spirit, releasing ourselves entirely to Him. Ask the Lord to take you deeper in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. Receive the Holy Spirit's fullness in your life today. Understand that "the river" in these verses can represent the outpouring and blessing of the Holy Spirit given by Jesus to His church (John 7:37-39). Allow the living water of God's Spirit to touch you and flow out of you. I will bring healing and abundant fruitfulness (Rev. 22:1-5). Spiritual Warfare in the Heavenlies

JESUS CAME TO DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL

Declaration


Jesus spoiled principalities and powers, destroyed the power of death, and destroyed the works of the Devil. Since I am a representative of the Son of God, I am to destroy the works of the Devil on earth. I shall bruise the head of the Serpent, I have power over all the power of the enemy, and no weapon that is formed against me shall prosper. With the help of the Lord Jesus Christ, I make a vow to God to do as much damage to the Kingdom of Satan as I can do as long as I live.


Scripture

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel (Gen. 3:15).

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord (Isa. 54:17).

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).

But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armor wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils (Luke 11:22).

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it (Col. 2:15).

For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the Devil (Heb. 2:14).

He that committeth sin is of the Devil; for the Devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the Devil (I John 3:8).


BY THIS I OVERCOME THE DEVIL

Declaration

My body is a temple for the Holy Spirit, redeemed, cleansed and sanctified by the Blood of Jesus. My members, the parts of my body, are instruments of righteousness, yielded to God for His Service and for His Glory. The Devil has no place in me, no power over me, no unsettled claims against me. All has been settled by the Blood of Jesus. I overcome Satan by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony, and I love not my life unto the death. My body is for the Lord and the Lord is for my body.

King James Bible

1. Through the Blood of Jesus, I am redeemed out of the hand of the Devil (Eph. 1:7).

2. Through the Blood of Jesus, all my sins are forgiven (Psa. 107:2).

3. The Blood of Jesus, God's Son, continually cleanses me from all sin (1 John. 1:7).

In Him (Jesus) we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor.Which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence) (Eph. 1:7-8).

2. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has delivered from the hand of the adversary (Psa. 107:2).

3. But if we (really) are living and walking in the Light, as He (Himself) is in the Light, we have (true, unbroken fellowship with one another), and the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt (keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations) (1John. 1:7).

4. Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ's blood, how much more (certain is it that) we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God (Rom. 5:9).

5. Therefore, Jesus also suffered and died outside the (city's) gate in order that He might purify and consecrate (sanctify) the people through (the shedding of) His own blood and set them apart as holy (for God) (Heb. 13:12).

6. Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received (as a Gift) from God? You are not your own. You were bought with a price (purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own). So then, honor (your) God and bring glory to Him in your body (1 Cor. 6:19-20).

7. And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the Blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death (holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing) (Rev. 12:11).

Declaration

Seated in heavenly places, far above evil, having power over the enemy, we bind and cast down the demonic chain of command: Might, Thrones, Nobles, Kings and Princes over Kingdoms, Principalities, Dominions and Powers, Generals, Rulers, Captains, Centurions and Strongmen, Rulers of Darkness of this World and Spiritual Wickedness in High Places.

We send legions of waring angels to attack. We loose the powers of God to do a mighty battle. We bind every force of evil and loose every force of good that we have the power and authority to do so. We break curses, vexes, hexes, spells and demonic ties.

We use every verse in the Holy Bible that wars against the demonic forces. We bind and loose spirits. We command civil war in Satan's Kingdom. We loose the Love of God, Price that Jesus Paid, Holy Spirit, Word of God, Blood of Jesus and Cross of Jesus against the forces of evil. All these things we do in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Master and Savior, and for the Holy Trinity.


In the Midst of the Battle
- Personalize Commands.

- Cast out demons of infirmity spirits, and drug and medicine spirits.

- Cast out infirmity spirits of pneumonia, heart attack, fluid in the lungs.

- God sets the battle plan.

- We have authority to pull down the stronghold.

- We should pull down strongholds and bind and loose.

- We should continue the spiritual warfare until victory comes. Be prepared to wrestle with the enemy. Keep your faith. Remain steadfast in prayer and spiritual warfare.

- Our strength in the Lord is derived through spiritual exercises: daily prayer and Bible study, fasting, fellowship with other believers, praise, worship, our testimony and walking in holiness.

- We must forgive everyone no matter what they did to us.

Scripture

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come (Eph. 1:21).

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Eph. 2:6).

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph. 6:12)
