The Word is Aflame with Truth and Vision

"The mystery of Pentecost is that the gift of discernment is breathed into the world, enabling us to see the presence of the divine in the midst of the human -- not as an aside or an afterthought, but as the main event of our lives" -Jay Rochelle

Christians turn to the Bible in order to get our story right. The New Testament passes along the testimony of those who knew Jesus and His mission in person. For the early church after the apostles, for the Reformers, and for us today, believers turn to Scripture because they know the Spirit speaks there. It is Scripture which shows us the Spirit's priorities, and Scripture which shares with us the vision of the coming Kingdom. The Spirit works through Scripture, not against it. Through the Bible, you can discover wisdom and direction. Without it, you'll fail to distinguish God's Purposes and Word from your purposes and words. This is true of what you think and do today, and it's also true of the past, including the most treasured of traditions. If the new or the old stands against Scripture or is used to thwart its central thrusts, we must stand with Scripture, or we will fall for anything.

The Scripture principle is not a substitute for the Spirit. It works only because the Spirit works through Scripture. We rely on this truth when we read the Scriptures in earnest prayer. Without the Spirit's action, the Bible's pages would lay still, moving your life no more than a dictionary or encyclopedia. If the Spirit is working in us, the Bible is aflame with truth and vision for every corner of our lives and for the whole world. The Spirit wants us to study, to trust, and to shape our lives according to what is in Scripture; to steep it into our souls, to live by the contours and the world vision of the Scriptures. None can prove that the Bible is the authentic story of God's dealings with humanity. That has to be shown to each of us by the Holy Spirit. -Spirit Home-

GOD Is In Control

When we are faithful in seeking the LORD with all our being He in turn is faithful to show up. When I am not in the Word and not focusing on GOD I am not "Logged" into Him. If I am not "Signed In" I don't get to be a part of Him.

I was reading about Angels and their ministry to us. The Heavenlies are filled with Angels of GOD. As I studied deeper about them I was in awe of GOD again. GOD uses these created beings to send messages from Him to us, through our prayers.

The word “angel” actually comes from the Greek word aggelos, which means "messenger." The matching Hebrew word mal'ak has the same meaning.

Sometimes, the Bible uses these words for human beings:

Ordinary people who carry messages (Job 1:14; Luke 7:24; 9:52)
Prophets (Isaiah 42:19; Malachi 3:1)
Priests (Malachi 2:7)
Church leaders (Rev 1:20)

Sometimes, it speaks figuratively of things or events as “messengers”…
The pillar of cloud (Exodus 14:19)
Pestilence or plagues (2 Samuel 24:16-17)

But it usually describes the whole range of spirits whom God has created, including both good and evil angels, and special categories such as cherubim, seraphim, and the archangel.

Angels are mentioned at least 108 times in the Old Testament and 165 times in the New Testament. There is ample information available in Scripture to allow us to build a foundation for our knowledge of angelic beings.

GOD is good, man is He good. He knows how to handle His Kingdom, we don't have to tell Him how to do it, just receive it. His ways are not our sinful ways. He has greater things planned out for us. He made a way for us to be a part of Him through the Blood of Jesus and made Him King over all. Think of it, if it were not for Jesus, the lamb of GOD, we would not be children of GOD. We would be rooting in the muddy waters of our piggish nature.

GOD makes us His number one priority and gives us Angels to guard us. We are His sons and daughters, through Christ. Isn't that just like a King to have his own special creation protecting His family. GOD is big, bigger than any sinful nature that comes upon us. That makes me feel very special.

GOD in His Infinite Mercy Loves Us so much he sends His mighty Angels to walk along side us, who in turn point us to Jesus, our Redeemer, who in turn points us to the the Holy Spirit who gives us revelation of the Word and Power from Heaven. See GOD has it all planned out all we have to do is Trust Him.

I like studying about the life of Jesus. As with Jesus who studied the Torah we should study about our heritage. In studying, I can see why the Isrealites were GOD's chosen people. They lived GOD! Jesus lived the torah, because it was the Breathe of GOD! He did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. His Blood has given us freedom from the law of sinful man, and has taken us into a whole new realm, giving us freedom from sin, if we only Believe in Him and Believe His Word is Truth. Praise GOD, I'm FREE.

If you are interested in learning about our ancestors here is a site I found that has a lot of Herbrew songs, which are beautiful. It is, CHABAD.ORG

This is one of my favorite which is sung in the Hebrew language.

Author Germaine Griffin Copeland

Germaine Griffin Copeland is the founder and president of Word Ministries, Inc. located in Monroe, Georgia (previously based in Historic Roswell, Georgia). Word Ministries, a teaching and prayer ministry that offers practical prayer instruction, personal prayer support and life-transforming guidance to other believers worldwide. Germaine's teaching leads others into an intimate relationship with the Father-God as they learn to pray the powerful and effective Scriptural prayers that brought her to a place of victory in Christ Jesus.

Germaine's training began in 1968, after her unique encounter with God. At that time, she was searching diligently for truth and battling depression. She had decided that she was a mistake and was tormented by suicidal thoughts. Out of the depths of her despair, she called upon the name of the Lord and the Light of God's presence illuminated the room where she was sitting.

It was in that moment that she experienced the warmth of God's love and she felt brand new. She discovered a motivation for living - life had purpose. As she became more intimately acquainted with Jesus, she discovered her true personality, and her destiny unfolded. Living in the presence of God she has found love and acceptance, healing for crippled emotions, contentment that overcomes depression, peace in the midst of adverse circumstances, and grace for developing healthy relationships.

To date, over 4 million copies of the Prayers That Avail Much book series have been sold, and are changing the way Christians pray. She believes that you can learn to pray confidently for things that concern you, your family, and other prayer assignments. Through her fellowship and communion with the Holy Spirit, she has become a woman of prayer and praise whose highest form of worship is the study of God's Word.

Today her manuscripts include books of personal encounters with God, and newspaper and magazine articles to help others grow spiritually and emotionally. Germaine's writings illustrate how to effectively pray for a loved one who is lost or hurting, how to know the difference between praying soulish and spiritual prayers, and how to pray in perfect agreement with God's will. Her book, The Road God Walks, includes a portion of her testimony and has helped many who suffer from depression. A devotional, Prayers That Avail Much for Daily Living, is filled with stories, brief studies and personal experiences. A Call to Prayer has been written to help churches and ministry groups develop effective intercessory prayer groups.

In the 1980's Germaine filled the position as Associate Pastor of Word of Life Church in Smyrna, Georgia, before serving as Senior Pastor for 5 years. She travels nationally and internationally conducting prayer schools, speaking at churches, conferences, and other groups. She, also, organizes prayer teams to pray for other countries on location. Her commitment to serve God and to study His Word continues to expand the vision of her ministry. She helps others discover how to grow in grace and knowledge and live with new power, strength and victory as God promises.

I am applauding the Work Germaine has done for the Lord. I am thankful for those faithful ones that have gone before us to help direct us down the righteous path.

I had purchased her book "Prayers that Avail Much for Mothers" in 2000. While moving it was packed in a box which I did not open till 2007. The prayers focus on many verses of scripture, generating one strong prayer. Speaking the Word is powerful when you speak the Spirit filled Words given by GOD in His Word. They literally become active and become a Miracle.

I would like to say to Germaine, may GOD Bless You for being a faithful servant.
