THE LORD GOD IS MY STRENGTH; HE WILL MAKE MY FEET LIKE DEER'S FEET, AND HE WILL MAKE ME WALK ON HIGH HILLS. HABAKKUK 3:19

We are Salt and Light

Matthew 5:13-16 (MSG)

Salt and Light
13"Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.  14-16"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

God's Presence

God's presence is important to me and one way I feel the presence of the Lord is through revelation the Holy Spirit gives as I read His Word. I like how the HSF Bible defines how the Word works with the believer. "Faith's confession receives God's "words" (rhema) and stands firm upon these promises...there are two great provisions that encourage believers in their faith: 1)The Word of God and  2)The ministry of Christ our great High Priest, who is able to bring us into immediate fellowship with God."

Making Time to Read the Bible Each Day Can Strengthen Your Daily Walk With God

"When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee--God can't break his word.  And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable.  We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go."  Hebrews 6:17-18  -The Message-

I like reading short devotions of the Word that strengthen my walk each day. A friend gave me a Chronological Daily Devotional Bible which makes for a good study, that I have added to my daily reading. If there is a day I miss my bible study, I just don't function well, so I now keep a small bible in my purse. I would have to say, "I Pant after the Word of God". When I read those encouraging words, my day has more meaning and then I can flex my smile muscle more. :)-Debi Webster-
