What the Bible Says

15:6 In the house of the righteous [is] much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble. (a) For though they have much yet it is full of trouble and care.

15:8 The b sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright [is] his delight. (b) That thing is abominable before God, which the wicked think to be most excellent, and by which they think most to be accepted.

15:10 Correction [is] grievous to him that c forsake the way: [and] he that hateth reproof shall die. (c) He who swears from the word of God, cannot stand to be admonished.

15:11 d Hell and destruction [are] before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men? (d) There is nothing so deep or secret that can be hid from the eyes of God, much less mans thoughts.

15:19 The way of the slothful [man is] as an hedge of e thorns: but the way of the righteous [is] made plain. (e) That is, he always finds some hindrance or stay, and dares not go forward.

15:22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but f in the multitude of counselors they are established.  (f) Read ( Proverbs 11:14 ).

15:23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word [spoken] g in due season, how good [it is]! (g) If we will that our talk be comfortable, we must wait for time and season.

15:26 The thoughts of the wicked [are] an abomination to the LORD: but [the words] of the pure [are] h pleasant words. (h) That is, wholesome and profitable to the hearers.

15:31 The ear that hears the i reproof of life abides among the wise.  (i) That suffers himself to be admonished by Gods word, which brings life: and so amends.

15:33 The fear of the LORD [is] the instruction of wisdom; and before honor [is] k humility.  (k) Meaning, that God exalts no one but them that are truly humbled.
PRAYER - To Help Others

Father, in the name of Jesus, I will do unto others as I would have them do unto me. I eagerly pursue and seek to acquire [this] (agape) love — I purpose to make it my aim, my great quest in life.

In the name of Jesus, I will esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] my own interest, but also for the interest of others as they pursue success. I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. I will make it a practice to please (make happy) my neighbor, (boss, co-worker, teacher, parent, child, brother, etc.) for his good and for his true welfare, to edify him — that is, to strengthen him and build him up in all ways — spiritually, socially, and materially.

I desire to imitate my Heavenly Father, and as a child of light, I will walk in love and wisdom. Help me to encourage (admonish, exhort) others and edify them.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I love my enemies (as well as my business associates, fellow church members, neighbors, those in authority over me) and am kind and do good — doing favors so that someone derives benefit from them. I lend expecting and hoping for nothing in return, but considering nothing as lost and despairing of no one.

Thank You, Father, for imprinting Your laws upon my heart and inscribing them on my mind — on my inmost thoughts and understanding. According to Your Word, as I would like and desire that men would do to me, I do exactly so to them, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
